Juan Manuel obtained his Law degree at the University of Granada in 1978 and began practising as a member of the Las Palmas Bar Association in January 1979, which means he has more than 35 years of professional experience. In 1980, he did a Masters in Maritime Law at Madrid’s School of Legal Practice and in 1994 he completed a Programme in Senior Company Management at Bravo Murillo International Institute.
During his extensive professional career, Juan Manuel has had the opportunity to work on a range of matters for a variety of clients, with particular emphasis on Commercial Law in both litigation and non-litigation contexts, including arbitral proceedings.
His experience includes major corporate restructuring cases, in which he has directed and coordinated teams providing employment and financial advice for companies. He has been an arbitrator on numerous Arbitration Tribunals formed by the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Shipping. As legal counsel, he has taken part in numerous proceedings for Spain’s leading construction companies. Juan Manuel has also specialised in insolvency proceedings, taking charge of the legal aspects of insolvencies and also acting as Insolvency Administrator.
